What is a lie?
A lie is a proclamation, which is assumed untrue, particularly utilised with the intension of misleading or cheating someone. The exercise of interacting in lies is known as lying and a person who converses a lie can be called as a liar. For individuals who make use of lies may oblige them as a variability of interpersonal, instrumental or psychological utilities. Usually, the word ‘lie’ displays a pessimistic connotation to it and being contingent on the perspective of a person, who converses a lie can be subjected to legal, social, criminal or religious sanctions (Bicchieri, Dimant & Sonderegger, 2020, p.3).
The Psychological Implication behind Lying
The psychological implication behind lying can be complex as people lie for various reasons or motives. The reasons for the lying behaviour of people explain what persuades them not to speak the fact. Whereas, certain people in an effort to avert hurting feelings of someone else or to escape punishment or, they tell lies. While several people lie out of instinct or for the reason that they want to show themselves to be as somebody to impress others but that is not their real personality. In addition, throughout the period of lifespan, reasons for lying differ (Lupoli, Jampol & Oveis, 2017, p.8).
What If You Could Only Tell the Truth?
If I could only tell the truth the life would have been better, yet it takes a large amount of patience to keep holding on to the honest path. Many people choose their path by lying, masking, betraying and cheating to achieve in their way. By staying on the truthful path is the hardest thing to do, surely not simple, as it can appear if one could only tell the truth. There are several ways for liars to get what they want and avert from the problem but for the honest people, the only way is the truth and for that, they can be judged, blamed and criticized for faults done by others (Heyman, Ding, Xu, Compton & Lee, 2020, p.3).
A Lie Is a Condition of Life
A lie is a condition of life is a true statement. During the childhood stage, children are taught that they should not lie ever as it is wrong and dishonest, yet everybody keeps lying. No matter how much people hate to confess that they lie, they all do lie. In reality, it has been argued by various studies that people lie between four to two hundred times in a day. All of this starts from the age of three according to the Foundation of Body Language. When a person wants something but cannot have and later realise that the only way to attain that thing is by transforming the view of reality of the concerned person, in order words they get it by lying (Vrij, Mann, Leal & Fisher, 2021).
Research on Lying
In spite of research signifying that lying can be a usual feature of growth and an equitably frequent manifestation in many men, women, children, adults and students, astonishingly little is acknowledged regarding its probable associations and phenomenology with appropriate cognitive functions and personality traits. Several people lie every now and then, nevertheless some people is far more frequent liars than others are. In reality, lying plays an important role amongst men, women, children, adults and students in the diversity of their selves during normal growth. However, lying can be consequence in complexities for people when compulsive and persistent (McDonough, Pope, Zeng, Lee & Gao, 2018, p.7).

The people who are extra manipulative, extra sociable, extra worried with their self-presentation and avoid punishments lie. In fact, these people lie more often. People who do not lie frequently or tell fewer lies are more greatly socialised and described higher eminence relationships of similar sex.
