Assessment 3 - Practical Checklist

The following task is to be demonstrated and assessed in in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the telecommunications sustainability field of work and include access to:

Sites on which planning, design and integration of sustainability may be carried out.Relevant legislation, standards, guidelines, reports and equipment specifications and drawings.

A range of workplace documentation, personnel, information and resources including:

  • Compliance obligations.

  • Organisational plans.

For this task you are to complete the following activity to demonstrate your ability to integrate sustainability in ICT planning and design projects.

Prepare to integrate sustainability into the planning and design stages of an ICT project through completion of the following steps:

  1. Evaluate the suitable ICT projects into which sustainability can be integrated.

  2. Negotiate with the stakeholders to establish, and document, the extent to which sustainability is to be integrated.

  3. Conduct some research to identify the technology solutions that are suitable and applicable to the project.

  4. Based on the agreed standard, gather, and record, the power consumption data on the ICT equipment required for an energy audit.

Complete the following actions to devise strategies for incorporating sustainability into the ICT project:

  1. Determine short term technology solutions to achieve a reduction of power consumption, and oversee the implementation of these solutions.

  2. Initiate sustainable management principles that result in reduced environmental impact, and develop and implement policies and procedures to monitor and progress them.

  3. Establish KPIs on sustainability performance, and develop and apply policies for their regular review and improvement.

  4. Develop, document and incorporate policies and procedures for innovative planning and design rules for ICT projects, to ensure that they foster sustainability and environmental best practice.

To analyse energy audit data, complete the following actions:

  1. Within the scope of the ICT project, identify the energy usage and provide a detailed report.

  2. Estimate the potential energy savings and payback periods for recommended actions.

  3. Estimate, and record, the CO2 emissions for the nominated project.

  4. Evaluate the estimated CO2emissions with comparable benchmarks.

  5. In order of priority, develop and document recommendations, giving the estimates of the implementation costs on the integration of sustainability for other ICT projects.

Abstract
ICT is considered to be one of the commercial sectors with a heavy load of electricity and energy consumption across the globe and is considered to be the important and significant category relating to the energy utilization which is again becoming of major importance and the same have to be undertaken in a rational and sustainable manner. Some of the issue and challenges which are required to be faced by them under the respective field of sustainability and the same are being stated, like the issue relating to the levels of noise, the flow of production challenges, interruptions, time variances, and many such mismanaging factors. Hence for the purpose of resolving the same and overcoming the factors the report and various steps were being taken into account.
Introduction
The report undertakes the various solutions, measures, and negotiation for the purpose of undertaking the various issue and challenges which are required to be undertaken and faced by the telecommunication sector of the society.
Suitable ICT project
The suitable project relating to the issue was being undertaken in the respective telecommunication sector and information communication technology (ICT) project, for the purpose of overcoming the various issue of interruptions, variant levels of noise, time variances, and many such issues as the same helps the user in providing enhanced access to the networks which avoids the issue of interruptions, improved quality of voice which avoids the variation in the noise level, and apart from the same also make use of the various telecommunication services and the services related to the ICT projects for the purpose of integrating sustainability and socio-economic developments relating to the sector and the society as a whole (Khan, Rahman, et.al., 2018). The integration relating to sustainability is considered to be f paramount importance in the project as this will help in promoting the present development without affecting and compromising the future generation to meet their demand and requirements in the particular sector of the society.
Stakeholders negotiation
A stakeholder is considered to be the individual who affects and directly indirectly gets affects with every single decision which has been undertaken and hence their permission and approval are of great importance. This term is being commonly taken into account at the time of making a decision or incorporating a project and hence various stakeholders and the negotiation with them was being taken into account as the first and the foremost step relating to the procedures of negotiation relates to the identification of the stakeholders and the same involves clients, customers, managers, project members, functional managers, account managers, sellers, buyers, sponsors, sellers and many more such individuals who play a great role in the decision making and development of the respective project relating to the same.
Apart from the same the internal stakeholders and negotiation with them involves other respective managers and employees and also the individuals which are being located and situated inside precincts of the company premises and affect the regular operations and routine of the respective project (de Oliveira, and Rabechini 2019). Negotiation is again an important task as coordination and mutual understandings are the factors that are being held responsible for the success and defective development of the particular project.
Technology solutions
Various technological solutions are being suggested for the purpose of overcoming the respective issue of noise levels and the same are being stated below:
· The user must undertake the conversion of the communication signals from analog to digital for the purpose of enhancing the signal connectivity
· Enhancement an improvement in the respective quantity and quality of the grid-related to the respective towers in the telecommunication industry
Technological solutions for time variances are being stated below:
· The experts and the industry of telecommunication must make use of the various parallel processing system and the respective processors for the purpose of serving to a large number of users
· Creation or generation of the unit-level task for the purpose of fast and rapid processing of the same.
Energy audit
ICT is considered to be one of the commercial sectors with a heavy load of electricity and energy consumption across the globe and is considered to be the important and significant category relating to the energy utilization which is again becoming of major importance and the same have to be undertaken in a rational and sustainable manner. As the recognition of the level...
