You are requested to write an article for the toxicology. We want your stories and knowledge about toxicology from your readings in contemporary and social media including newspapers, magazines, radio, TV and theinternet. You may get your idea from one of these media sources, then research the scientific facts regarding it.So keep your eye out for atoxicology storyin the media that can then become the basis for your assignment.



Toxicology assignment Options:



1. Choose a venomous Australian animal and research the effects of it’s venom on humans.


Include:



  • the venom components (if known)

  • the physiological effects of the venom

  • the likely medical presentation

  • the recommended treatment



OR



2. Research a common phytotoxin or mycotoxin.
Explain the botanic source of the toxin, it’s major toxicological effects and any effects that can be exploited for therapeutic gain.



OR



3. Research a current topic in Toxicology not related to venoms or toxins.



The format of this assignment is similar to your previous one (i.e. similar to your pharmacology assignment).The assessment rubric is available. Note that you will be marked on three areas and you will be required authoritative references and a link/reference to current media to obtain full marks.


Your article should be about 300 words, absolutely no more than 350 words, and no less than 250 words, please (References will not contribute to the word counts).


Reference style: Use the reference type which you have learned in your program (Eg: APA or Harvard).


Your assignment should be submitted before/by the end of Week 12 (Fri, October 18th 23:59).
