Question 1
It can be said that leaders have a lot of impact on the culture of a firm to a great extent. They are the people who tend to set the agenda, manage, prioritise work, leads as well as delegate people as much as possible. Leaders also use organisational culture theory that highly emphasises that culture is the set of values that a company or a group of people have in common. Furthermore, the leaders who tend to be strong always provide a sense of purpose, vi
sion, inspiration and mentorship to those who are leading. Organisational culture in general can be defined as the shared values, perceptions or beliefs that are held by the workers in the company. In a lot so ways the success of the leader tend to depends on their ability for shaping to uphold and shape the culture of the firm. However, it is formidable task and one that requires conviction, selflessness, as well as strongest character.
The following are some of the ways by which leaders influence the culture of an organisation to a great extent:
Firstly, it is needless to say that leaders walk the talk as well as lead by the example. The team looks at a leader for seeing them taking the lead as well as leaders must communicate and display their expectations, specifically during the change (Ali, N.M et al., 2015).
Secondly leaders can reinforce the values of the company by helping the individuals develop and grow through the goal setting, recognition as well as opportunities. Leaders also tend to elevate the workers via the frequent one-to-one along with the regular feedback. When the workers have ongoing and open dialogue with regard to their work, their trust in their leader tend to strengthen as well.
Thirdly, as mentioned earlier it is not at all shocking that the leadership tend to correlate to the great organisational cultures. After all, generally leadership is defined as something that has authority or influence, and leaders also reinforce the values. Throwing light on the above-mentioned discussion it can be said that influence over other individuals can be either negative or positive based on the execution strategy and the leadership style (Warrick, 2017).
Lastly, motivating people- Leaders always motivate everyone in a company and that influences the employees to carry out their duties effectively. Furthermore, it must be noted that for making best out of their leadership the leaders always try to know their employees well. Hence, they open up for the two-way communication and then they find out the motivations of the workers. Listening to as well as integrating the motivations and beliefs of the team that will make them feel extremely valued. They know that a positive organisational culture always begins with the employees who are satisfied.
Culture also tends to influence the performance a lot. Having a strong organization culture implies living by those qualities and that mission every day and urging the employees to do likewise. A solid culture produces representatives with a very much tuned ability to know east from west and makes normal meanings of progress, so the organization can develop as a group.
Organisation culture can impact the performance and inspiration levels of an employee at an alarming rate. As a rule, workers work more diligently to accomplish authoritative objectives in this manner that they believe themselves to be important for the professional workplace. Various cultures working in one organization can likewise affect the performance of the employees (Bratton, 2020). For example, if the company keeps up a note such as "talk when essential" culture, employees may work in like manner - be that as it may, if the firm permits one segment, such as the marketing team, to be frank and socially dynamic, the firm may encounter rivalries among other areas. Therefore, permitting an area to set up their own way of culture can influence the workers performance deploy somewhere else in the organization? Firms must make sure that they align the corporate culture with the performance management systems.
Question 10
It can be said that leadership and power both are quite different. It will be quite fair in terms of concluding that people can have the ability for influencing, enabling and developing without being a leader of any group (Woods, 2016).
Power- It has been observed that individuals with power have the ability of influencing the actions of others to some extent. Power is the ability of an idnivdual to control certain activities with regard to other people.
Leadership- On the other hand, leadership is the ability of inspiring individuals in terms of following the instructions voluntarily as well as managing the completion of the project without exercising any kind of force.
Earlier it was believed that power was mainly derived from the leadership. Arguably, in a lot of instances, power leads to the leadership. It is needless to say that the two are although interrelated as well as can be a source of confusion between various individuals who do not fully understand the differences (Cronin and Genovese, 2015). Furthermore, it can be also said that power and influence both play one of the most important role in the leadership but there are some of the most significant differences that exists in...
