Introduction
“Many conceptions of leadership stress the need of influencing others. Most definitions of leadership, according to Vikhanskiy, & Mirakyan, (2018), need 'influence.' I learned in this session that leadership entails influence and that it may be applied by anybody in a company. It made me realise that people want to be a part of the vision; they would like to believe in the meaning and purpose of something.
Concept1: Inspirational Vision
Vision is becoming more widely recognised as a vital component of leadership, but it may be applied to schools in a variety of ways. Outstanding leaders, according to Ruben, Lisi, & Gigliotti, (2018), have a vision of their schools — a mental image of a desirable future – that is shared by the whole school community. Ten generalisations regarding leadership are articulated by Gao, (2018), four of which are directly related to vision.
A company's vision must be articulated in a way that ensures employee commitment. If leadership is to be successful, it must focus on institutionalising vision. A process of 'implanting' the vision must accompany the transmission and articulation of the vision. Policymaking and planning abilities, both technological and human, are required. Ruben et al (2018) for the School Management Task Force, for example, highlight a number of issues with the establishment and articulation of 'vision' in Universities.
Also, Back in the days of my schooling, it can be found that most heads could explain some form of vision, but "ability to communicate the vision varied, and the visions were more or less complex". Rarely were the visions particular to the school. They are very similar to what one may anticipate from a British educational system.
Concept 2: Creating the trust and Value
Although leadership may be defined as 'influence,' this definition is ambiguous because it does not explain or prescribe what aims or activities should be pursued through this process. Alternative leadership frameworks emphasise the importance of having strong professional and personal values as a foundation for leadership. The major duty of any National College for School Leadership leader, according to Ruben, Lisi, & Gigliotti, (2018), is "the unity of individuals behind core ideals." Leader can’t work as solo performer, they need to:
· Leader needs to show and build trust in others by listening, helping, and paying attention.
· Sharing knowledge and information, such as data, expertise, and valuable resource.
· They help in finding the common goal to foster and joint the...
