Business Writing BSBWRT401 Write Complex Documents Assignment. This assignment has 2 parts. Part 1 Email. You are to write an email from your Project Group to the Chairman of Over The Top Education Pty Ltd. The email is to explain that in order to write the report, Part 2 of the assignment, your Project Group will need access to the location where the new course is to take place. The reasons for this are: · To see how the room is set up and advise that the Report may possibly recommend students and Lecturing staff using dual screens. · The desks comply with current WHS legislation for using computers. · The dual screens are to enable students to work on their software project while viewing texts / information. The email is to be set out in accordance with the guidelines advised in the text and have: · An introduction · Main & secondary points · Any action required by the Board of directors · Any other point you think is relevant. The email must also advise: · An estimate of the length of time for the report to be submitted · A signature block at the bottom of the email. If you have any other questions or queries, please ask your Lecturer / Trainer. Part 2 Write a Long Report This assessment is to be completed in groups of: · You will need to form into a Project Team to complete a Long Report for this assignment · A minimum of two or · A maximum of three. Case Study: Over The Top Education Pty. Ltd. (OTTE P/Ltd) is a private education business in Melbourne. They specialise in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. They have been in business for 15 years and believe that the time has come to increase revenue and place a larger footprint in adult education. To increase revenue and profit, the board of directors has decided that they will include a new course to be available to International students only. The new course is a Diploma of Software Development. OTTE P/Ltd does not currently the Software and Hardware for a class of 20 students that will enroll in the course which commences in 2015. You are to prepare a Long Report and discuss benefits of the project, and to make a recommendation to the board of Directors on whether or not to proceed with the course. The proposed fee for each student is $15000- for each semester, and the course is scheduled to be delivered over 12 months. The Competencies to be delivered are from the ICA11 Training package and include: · ICAICT418A Contribute to copyright, ethics and privacy in an IT environment · ICAPRG418A Apply intermediate programming skills in another language · ICAPRG501A Apply advanced object-oriented language skills · ICAPRG502A Manage a project using software management tools · ICAPRG503A Debug and monitor applications · ICAPRG504A Deploy an application to a production environment · ICAPRG520A Validate an application design against specifications · ICAPRG523A Apply advanced programming skills in another language · ICAPRG527A Apply intermediate object-oriented language skills · ICAPRG529A Apply testing techniques for software development · ICAPMG501A Manage IT projects · ICAPRG510A Maintain custom software · ICASAD506A Produce a feasibility report · ICAPRG505A Build advanced user interface · ICAPRG506A Design application architecture · ICAPRG507A Implement security for applications Note: Students are expected to have completed a Certificate IV in Programming before coming to OTTE P/Ltd. The chosen Programming Languages include Java and C#. The hardware for students will use includes: · Desktop machine with dual screens · Software to include MS Visual Studio, MS Project, MS Visio and MS Office · A Java IDE of your choice. Open Source is OK to use. · Any other software you believe may be necessary. You can assume all desks, chairs, servers for software installation and Internet access are already in place. The hardware and software Licence items are to be costed and a graph / chart showing the break-even point is to be included in your report. The calculation spreadsheet is to be included in the Appendices. Your report is to include the following headings. · Title Page · Letter of Transmittal · Terms of Reference · Acknowledgements · Table of Contents · List of Figures / Tables (if used) · Executive Summary · Glossary · Body – Introductory section · Body – Central section · Body – Final section including: · Conclusions · Recommendations · Signature Block · End matter · Appendences and attachments · References and bibliography For a description of the content of each of these categories, refer to pages 40, 41 and 42 of the text. Your report is expected to be presented in a professional manner and either uploaded to Moodle or printed, which is at the discretion of your Lecturer / Trainer NOTE: If you are unsure about any criteria for your report, before you complete the report and submit a report that does not meet the criteria, please discuss with your trainer Lecturer. Assignment Criteria The report is expected to be formatted correctly and conform to the following · Headings – use the heading style provided by the word processor you are using · Spelling and punctuation is expected to be corrected prior to submission · Reference any material used in the correct manner · Use appropriate language – the Board of Directors will not understand technical jargon. · Appropriate sentence structure should be used as direct by the text · Appropriate font such as Calibri, Arial or similar · Font size to be no less than 11 point. · Footers to include the name of the document · Page numbers to be noted · All contributors to the assignment must be noted Submissions.
