The aim of this course is to introduce students to the principles of research inquiry. They will develop the capacity to critique current research and debate the relevance of research to evidence based practice.




Learning Outcomes


On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:


1.    Compare and contrast a range of research methodologies and deliberate the benefits and limitations of each. In addition, consider in which research context would each methodology would be appropriate.
2.    Reflect on the relevance of ethical, cultural, social and moral implications as a requirement in research inquiry.
3.    Evaluate evidence based research and critically analyse its relevance as well as its application to a practice context.


4.    Use academic process to effectively critique research.
