Pick one current, peer-reviewed research article (within the last ten years) regarding some topic in Abnormal Psych. Make sure this is original research; not a meta-analysis or a review of some research. Generally speaking, you can know that it is acceptable by reviewing the methods section. Review the article and write a 1000-1500 word report (double-spaced, normal sized font). Include a word count at the end of the paper. Please ask if you have questions regarding the acceptability of your article choice.

Use APA style for your citations, title page, running head and reference page (no abstract is necessary for this assignment). Be sure to have all parts of the assignment contained in one file.

Answer the following questions:
What did the article study? What was the hypothesis? How was the hypothesis tested? What were the results? (There is no need to get into technical statistical jargon here; just summarize it). How does this knowledge benefit those who diagnose and treat psychological disorders?
What criticisms do you have about the way the study was conducted? Would you have done anything differently? If so, what and how? Why? What did you find most interesting about this study? What did you dislike about this study?

Be sure to summarize the results and implications of the study. If you do not understand some part of it, work on summarizing the areas you DO understand. At the least, aim to understand the abstract, results and discussion. Write as if to an educated audience; assume the recipient knows the basics of Abnormal Psych (symptoms, diagnosis, etc.) Use language that is technical/ professional (ie., avoid slang terms like "crazy" or "mental breakdown" or "loony bin").

To find an article:

Go to “research databases.” You can search using PsycARTICLES or PsycINFO. Look around at the articles until you find one that pertains to Abnormal Psych and catches your interest. You may find it difficult to understand; that's okay. Just work with the parts you DO understand.

Remember, there are THREE opportunities to submit an article review, of which only TWO are required. You must skip one due date for article reviews; doing a third article review will not result in extra points.

Introduction
Every human being has unique personality. It has been often observed that few individuals have struggle with psychological issue called personality disorder. As mentioned by Bateman, Gunderson, and Mulder (2015), personality disorder can be defined as the psychological disorder, which can lead to unhealthy pattern of behaving, functioning, and thinking.

The topic chosen for the article review is borderline personality disorder in adolescent. Borderline personality disorder can be defined as personality disorder, which is associated with the self-harming traits. It has been seen that individual with this disorder tries to harm themselves at many instances. Thus, proper treatment and early diagnosis is needed.
About Article
The article selected for the study is “Inpatient adolescents with borderline personality disorder features: Identity diffusion and narrative incoherence.” This article focussed on the borderline personality disorder. As suggested by Paris (2018), borderline personality disorder is one of the severe personality disorders, which has poor diagnosis. This is the reason most of the researchers nowadays emphasizes on the evaluation on the borderline personality disorder in the adolescence so that disorder can be identified, targeted and treated over the period.

These characteristics bring instability in the relationship of the individual suffering from the disorder. The adolescent suffering from the borderline personality disorder displays disturbance of their self.
This disturbance can manifest in different ways in adolescents. It has been observed that the adolescents suffering from the borderline personality disorder struggles with high rate of social issues such as suicide, drug addiction, poor social interaction, and crime (Comer, 2018). The aim of the current research analysis was to examine the relationship between different disturbed manifestation of self and borderline features in inpatient adolescents by observing identity diffusion and narrative coherence.
Hypothesis of the Study
The disturbance, which is observed in individual, might be because of identity diffusion or due to narrative coherence. The high levels of identity diffusion and low levels of narrative coherence can be related to borderline personality disorder.
Method of Testing Hypothesis
To prove the hypothesis, seventy adolescents from a private tertiary care, in-patient treatment facility are selected for the...
