The Background

    The constitution though Article III established the federal justice system. Section one of the article states that the judicial power of the county will be vested by only one supreme court and several inferior courts formed by congress from time to time. The constitution also amends for congress to organise the Supreme Court. The law realised the Supreme Court with six justices and established several lower federal court systems.
The Jurisdiction
    The jurisdiction of the Supreme Court was established by the constitution over some instances such as the suits between two states, public and ministers, the ambassadors. The court also has jurisdiction on having appellate on almost all the cases (Janus p.345-378) cases involving the United States and the federal law system. The issues, including the ships on high seas and treaties, are also under the jurisdiction of the US law.
