Discuss the role a narrative plays in relation to a person’s experience of health and illness and the impact of this on nursing practice. In answering this you are asked to:
•    Describe briefly what a health or illness narrative is (10 marks)
•    Identify and discuss how sociological factors can impact on a person’s narrative. Focus on historical, cultural, sociological and individual constructs (15 marks)
•    Discuss how an understanding of a person’s narrative can constructively inform nursing practice (15 marks)
•    Demonstrate academic writing and presentation skills (5 marks)
•    Include a minimum of 10 academic references relevant to both narrative and sociological 
analysis to support your discussion. A minimum of 5 of the references should be sourced from outside of the prescribed readings. References should be correctly cited in the text and correctly listed in the reference list, in accordance with APA 6th edition referencing guidelines (5 marks).
•    Additionally, students need to refer to the grading rubric and ensure that they have included all required information prior to submitting the essay.
