EDEC204 – Assessment 2 Portfolio
Create 3 lesson plans: A planned series of literacy learning experiences (with analysis/justification) appropriate for the early years of school which demonstrate an understanding of contemporary theories and pedagogy and familiarity with quality children’s literature.
Note: digital or multimodal communications need to be included in the portfolio.(this can be included as an alternative activity for children with additional needs or it could be for one of the three lesson plans)

Engagement:
(Example – list length of time for each portion of the activity and the description of the activity. This should be a thorough step-by-step explanation of the activity. This could be between 100-250 words)
Open classby stating that we will be learning about the flow of water and how that affects places and connects places. Explain that water and the flow of water connects not only people and places but also has cultural meaning.
Draw map of a lake and rivers connecting to the sea, mountains, cities, boats, etc… on the board. Have students copy the map. Talk about how the flow of water connects people and places.

Justification/Analysis
This is where you will discuss the theory & teaching and learning strategies. Why have you chosen this activity? How does this activity address the learning outcomes? How does it allow the child to progress in their ability levels in this subject? How will you assess and report on student progress and student outcomes? (Max 250-300 words for each lesson plan)
Bibliography
Your bibliography should ALWAYS be on its own page at the end of the assessment!! ALWAYS follow APA 7 guidelines and ALWAYS be single spaced. For this assessment it would be appropriate to use 4-6 sources from class. These sources must be academic sources and I prefer that you use sources we’ve spoken about or that I have shared in class.
