The Personal Disposition Theory of Allport states that the notion of job dissatisfaction is closely associated with the personality of an individual. A contrasting theory to the Personal Disposition Theory is Herzberg’s Motivator Hygiene Theory. According to Simon, Parker and Stockport (2018), the two-model theory ideates that the idea of job satisfaction or dissatisfaction is based on the concepts of motivation in the form of recognition, opportunities and so on as well as hygiene, that is the working condition of the workplace, the interpersonal relationship with co-employees and employers. According to Motivator Hygiene Theory, there are a number of hygiene factors and motivation factors that can influence an employee’s perception of job satisfaction.
