Expand thePhylum Arthropodato reflect all the following different Classes and Orders andinclude a specific exampleof each on your tree:

  1. Class Insecta

    •  Order Orthoptera

    •  Order Diptera

    •  Order Lepidoptera

  2. Class Arachnida

    •  Order Scorpiones

    •  Order Opiliones

    •  Order Acari

    •  Order Araneae

Order Decapoda

Write a3 to 4 page“Figure Legend” for the figure that describes, in detail, all parts of the figure. Include a discussion of each of the following:

  1. the common taxonomic characteristics among all members of the Arthropoda.

  2. the common taxonomic characteristics among members within a given Class.

  3. the taxonomic differences between the three Classes in the figure.

  4. the taxonomic differences between each Order within a given Class.

All above parts must be completed. Your write-up should reflect your understanding of phylogenetic relationships among these organisms.

Include a list of reference at the end (not part of the word count). Follow APA referencing guidelines. Use complete references–a list of websites is not acceptable. NO WIKIPEDIA.

Phylum Arthropoda
Arthropoda in Greek means 'jointed legs.' Arthropods were first studied by Aristotle. The term arthropod was coined by Von Siebold. The name ‘arthropods’ rightly describes a huge variety of organisms in this phylum. This phylum dominates 85% of the animal kingdom and yet there are many arthropods, which are undocumented, hence known as the largest phylum in the kingdom Animalia. Jointed appendages and functional segmentation of the body are the key features of these organisms.
1. Common Taxonomic Features of Arthropods
Arthropods are invertebrate animals with a chitinous exoskeleton, which helps in protection, mobility, and flexibility. Arthropods belong to the kingdom Animalia. Many of them are terrestrial while some are aquatic. Some of these organisms are vectors and ectoparasites. These organisms are usually bilaterally symmetrical. The organisms are haemocoelomic and triploblastic. Arthropods have true head, and the body is divided into head, thorax, and body, while in some organisms head and thorax are fused (cephalothorax). The head constitutes the antenna and a pair of compound eyes. These organisms move with the help of jointed appendages. Arthropods have a well-developed, straight, and complete digestive tract. The organisms respire through gills, body surface, book lungs, book gills, or trachea.
Arthropods exhibit an open circulatory system, which is devoid of blood vessels, and have colorless blood. Excretion happens through Malpighian tubules in terrestrial arthropods while with...
