The Orange Food Week Event
Introduction
This particular paper attempts to examine the cultural event that took place in Sydney Australia i.e. the orange food week (visitorange 2018). The event was organized from 22th April to 27th April 2018. This was basically a cultural event laying emphasis upon the fine foods as well as wine, prepared by the expert chefs belonging to Sydney and few from other nations and regions. This was a ten-days event that demonstrated the way how the Australian culture of making food could catch the attention of the tourist worldwide. On the whole, the event was a complete success. This event has gained a lot of popularity and the same was prevalent from the number of people visiting the cooking festival. Thus, this particular event aimed at preparing exceptional food items that the outsiders haven’t tasted earlier. Additionally, there were some issues among chefs on how distinctively the food is made and judges were basically the customers. Thus, with augmented number of visitors attracted through food items, the event has certainly augmented the tourism revenue within Sydney particularly through the advertisement made during the orange food week.
Moving ahead, since there was high flow of tourist during this particular event, the organisers required making several planning arrangement for serving the augmenting flow of tourist. Moreover, the orange food week has also received the NSW Tourism Awards 2017, thus a large number of local people as well as others showed high interest towards this particular event. For the purpose of evaluation and planning, the organisers employed a good number of employees for regulating several aspects such as food delivery, servicing, catering and others. Additionally, the organisers also adopted a structural strategy regarding how the entire orange food week program would be carried out. The event was estimated to raise more than $70000 and it has been quite successful in doing so. All the funds collected would be utilized for waste management campaign. The funds have been collected through selling food items to the people visiting the event.. The organizers also ensured that the basic requirements are properly met such as appropriate food equipment, proper sitting arrangements for the guests etc. for ensuirng that the event goes on smoothly. The orange food week event was managed through several volunteers along with support personnel therefore during the evaluation procedure, the event managers took the report from several different internal sources of operating staff, guest’s comments, organizers and lastly, external sources such as media reports, social media and others. Further, on the whole it can be stated that the event proved to be a great success and has been quite successful in achieving set objectives as well as attracting a high number of guests.
Positive and Negative impacts of the event
