The development of Atomic theory
The foundations to the atomic theory were laid from the
eighteenth century itself. At the early eighteenth century, the principles of law of conservation of mass as proposed by Antoine Lavoisier and Louis theory of the law of definite proportions formed the foundations of the atomic theory. Subsequent developments led to the proposal of Dalton’s atomic theory which mainly postulated, that the all material is made of atoms and atoms are indivisible and in destructible. All atoms of particular element are always identical in mass and other related properties. Further Dalton’s atomic theory (Waddignton.2017) is postulated to discuss the formation of the compounds and the mechanism of chemical reactions as well. Further the atomic theory is developed by Ruther ford, Bohr and quantum’s theories. Further developments were recorded by Broglie, Schrodinger and Werner Heisenberg’s uncertainity principle as well. The modern atomic theory is much vastly developed and there are postulations like atoms are destructible by nuclear reactions. Also there are few...
