Second Amendment expression area: A well established and controlled military is required for the security of an independent state where the people will have rights to keep and bear arms and it cannot be infringed.
Second Amendment: rights to bear arms, well regulated militia and the word ‘state’.
Guns: Citizens are allowed to own guns and rifles as per the second amendment.
Militia: A regiment of army which is raised from the civil population which can display consistent military activities during the emergency situation.
State: The word ‘state’ is used interchangeably with the word ‘country’.

The landmark case in the second amendment is as follows:
1. New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. City of New York (2020)

1. Case: A group of citizens living in New York challenged the provisions of city’s premises license. As per this law, none of the individuals are able to travel beyond the boundaries of the city with a handgun. This violated the Second Amendment rights and dormant Commerce clause.
2. The ‘gun’ ownership law of New York City: This restricts the transportation of licensed firearm from an individual’s house have violated the second amendment of the constitution as well the Commerce clause and the right to travel.
3. The issue: As per the Second Amendment, the Commerce clause and the constitutional rights to travel, there is ban on travelling outside the limits of the city or to home which is within the shooting limits with a licensed, locked and unloaded gun.
4. Grant of certiorari: The writ of certiorari was petitioned by the plaintiffs of Supreme Court which challenged the Second Circuit’s decisions and questioned if the banning on transportation of gun violated the rights to travel, the Dormant Commerce Clause and the Second Amendment rights.
5. The outcome: The Supreme Court ruled out that the petitioners claim for declaratory and injunctive relief is controversial.
