Statistics for Marketers - Analyzing Relationships Between Two Variables 1. Requirements – turn in an Excel file that contains your analysis. a. Go to www.c4hire.org/main.html b. Choose "Consultant for Hire" button on top right.  c. If you are more of a gamer, you can wander the C4Hire consulting agency to find the Director and Get the assignment medical case study from the Director’s assignments book, then ask questions of different people until you find Gerald who supplies the data file OR If you are not a gamer, you can download the Excel file directly (ATTACHED – Data14B.xls). i. This Web site is very rich in content.  It is not mandatory for this assignment, but at the C4Hire agency, room 111 is the location of the Stats guru who can share information on regression analysis, similar to a textbook.  ii. You can also learn about regression on this Web site by taking a look at lesson 14 on the main page called Relationships between variables. 2. Download the Excel file called Data14B.xls (ATTACHED – Data14B.xls). Original Sources:  (USDA, Economic Research Service, calculations based on CSFII, NHANES, WWEIA, FADS and FICRCD and http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/mortality_tables.htm#mortality) a. Within the Excel file sheet1 it discusses whether eating your fruits and vegetables at a national level is related to mortality rates?   In other words, would the nation as a whole live longer if it eats more fruits or if it eats more vegetables?  "Death rates have decreased over time. Fruit and vegetable consumption has increased over time. Are they related? Is there more of a correlation from fruits and death rates or from vegetables and death rates?" b. Answer the two questions above by interpreting the charts presented and write up your analysis on the bottom of sheet1. c. Include your interpretation of at least two slopes and r-squared values from two separate charts in your analysis.
