The first theory of innovation is the diffusion theory. Proposed by Rogers in 1962, this theory is based on the scientific concept of diffusion or spreading of the idea over the course of time among the social system. The degree of innovation in idea is measured by the diffusion or the expansion of the same in a society (Nambisan, Wright & Feldman, 2019). Secondly, the adoption theory of innovation accepts that every new idea has the worth to be noticed and no matter if it is appreciated or rejected, it should have that worth, which everyone should acknowledge. The third theory in this context is the general theory; it maintains a specific mechanism behind the idea.

In workplace, innovation refers to the implementation of the strategies that either improves the current services or they assist in developing dynamic products. The core business values are enhanced by implying innovation into practice; the innovation leads to success, if it aligns with the interest of the business as well as to the target sector, in which the innovation is about to be applied.
