Overview of the Case Study
This case study identifies Los Rayos as a Medical Center in a nursing crisis, not only because of its high turnover rate, but also because of its negative attitude amongst the nursing staff. While the hospital works tirelessly to provide its patients with quality treatment, due to short staffed and overstressed nursing workers, it is failing in several ways. The hospital, mandated to uphold government legislation, recognizes the significance of not sacrificing efficiency even though it has had to reduce employee quantity.

It is apparent that Los Rayos does not have adequate money as they seek to reduce the costs of their workers. In monetary terms, there is also no realistic way to reimburse these nurses for their training performance and cost-saving advice. Jobs, however, have other ways to feel satisfied with work, which are not cash. For example, Los Rayos can provide nurses with an ability to offer useful costs.
The issue with Los Rayos medical facility is that management does not use workers resourcefully, leading to a high number of turnovers. Kim, Tam, Kim and Rhee (2017) have explained that the facility is underpaid and underfunded and encouraged health tech housekeepers and gave no training skills causing nurses to double work as they would have to perform the tasks of patient care that the health techs were encouraged to do.
Not only does this boring and demanding work schedule build a hostile work atmosphere, but also the workers are hesitant for patients and peers to go the additional distance or over achieve.
