The collection of data by the patient access personnel is very important in billing and collection process as the data is useful in identifying that the patient is charged for correct medications and procedures. In some exceptional services, if the billing is done improperly, then insurance companies has the right to deny the claim.
b. Analyze how third-party policies would be used when developing billing guidelines for patient financial services (PFS) personnel and administration when determining the payer mix for maximum reimbursement.
The patient financial services personal has the responsibility to give financial suggestions to the patient to claim maximum reimbursement after the treatment. The third party policies of the bills is the person who is not the patient and PFS helps them to understand the ways in which maximum amount can be claimed (Sun et al., 2019).
c. Organize the key areas of review in order of importance for timeliness and maximization of reimbursement from third-party payers. Explain your rationale on the order.
The key areas of review for timeliness as well as maximization of the third party payer are as follow: To provide correct information for reduction of amount of denials, to use the eligibility tools, to explain their reflectivity in patient’s responsibility, verification of payment, collection of money.

The follow ups are very essential part of the billing and marketing as it keeps the patient in loop with the new policies and activities.
