Assessment Details Background The report requires a critical analysis of literature relevant to a proposal. Requirements You are required to submit: • An interim research proposal (50-200 words) • A synthesis matrix (as described in lectures) • A list of references named in the synthesis matrix. These should be in APA referencing style. The purpose of this task is to assist students to prepare a research proposal. You have already done quite a bit of work for this research in tutorials: you should have a tentative research issue, strategies and evidence to persuade your readers about the significance of the problem you’re researching, as well as the validity of your research issues. You also should consider opposing views or good counter-arguments that you can address in order to help establish your credibility and enhance the relevance of your paper. A. 2.1. Background
The virtual reality developed primarily as a technology capable of offering visuals with multi-dimensional
and immersive experience for the users. In the earlier works, such as the one developed by Jones, Moore, Rose and Choo (2016), the focus has been the impact of virtual reality usage on chronic pain experienced by users. Virtual reality games are highly addictive as they offer high amount of adrenalin rush as the users are immersed in the game play visuals and simulations. However, as argued by Baker, Waycott, Pedell, Hoang and Ozanne (2016), the aspect of isolation from social interaction, as an after-effect of using virtual reality based gaming has not been discussed in ample details and there lacks a significant area of concentration. Considering the rate at which the virtual reality gaming is being adapted, an in depth knowledge of virtual reality gaming and user isolation must be considered important and research worthy.

The use of virtual reality is the future of digital gaming and is a technological feat, while the strong sensory addiction created by virtual reality games are making its users isolated from society, causing intellectual harm to the society and human psyche (Billieux, Deleuze, Griffiths & Kuss, 2015).

    Firstly, the virtual reality game makers must ensure that their games are played for limited amount of time in a day, based on scientifically permissible levels and give users warning and eventually stop the game play altogether for a considerable amount of time in case the users do not take note of the warning.
