Pros and Cons of Using Capital Punishment
Being the district attorney, I would take a moment to brief the public about the capital punishment, its pros and cons along with my personal take on the use of death penalty.
Pros
Firstly, providing a deterrent against violent and extreme criminal cases is the main function of the law. The capital punishment should be the appropriate deterrent so as to set an example for the rest of the world to think before committing such heinous crimes. This punishment will prevent crimes in future. Secondly, some crimes that are committed are beyond rehabilitations measures. When such extreme punishment is given to the convict it ensures safety of the public and society. Lastly, the death sentence against a crime leaves no chance for the victim to hide from justice and leaves no scope for illegal escape.
