Regardless of your post-graduate plans, the ability to write clearly and concisely is crucial to communicating well. Task: You will choose and research a specific and important state government issue. You will thoroughly analyze the issue, evaluating at least two points of view as well as your own position on the issue. You should define the problem or issue, describe its background and provide a well- documented and well-written assessment of the subject. Recommend a policy action based on your insight into a set of alternatives. Topic Approval: You have great latitude in choosing your topic, however, you must clear your topic with me before you start. Rules Governing Submission of Papers: All papers must be typed and turned in by 11:59PM on the due date specified by the instructor. Introduction
“Education is the most powerful w
eapon, which all can use to change the World” a beautiful quotation by Nelson Mandela. At the same time, education is the best weapon, through which an individual can fight with the terrorism, poverty and ignorance. However, some educational system and curriculum lack knowledge about the basic requirement of the students, their way of living, thinking, culture and learning and as a result creates an educational gap.
These gaps are created through inappropriate communication. Factors for the educational gap includes lower school enrollment, low literacy rate, poor school performance and higher dropout rates. This paper will focus mainly on the communication issues in the educational system in United States and the way out of it.
Elucidation of Communication Issue in Education System of USA
Education is the most powerful weapon, which all can use to change the world. However, in order to change the world communication is needed. As stated by Johnson and Hackman, the art of communication is the language of the teachers to deliver their lectures within their classroom. The moment when the issues related to justice, freedom, inequality in all terms and citizenship were solved, that moment a nation can be recover in its true sense.
There arises a common issue where the racially and ethnically discriminated people often feel insecure about their identity in a nation. There are certain people who lack proper education, suffers from unemployment, lower income level, isolated for blackish culture and experience poor cultural development. These peoples usually lack employments, as proper deserving facilities are not provided to upgrade themselves in order to cope up with the United States culture.
As per evidence, racism factors tortured and humiliated the poor children in United States due to their language, their learning styles, their living standard, their body languages and many other. The rich and sophisticated students often humiliated the ones from lower-economic backgrounds by teasing, bedwetting, provoked whipping, strappings, beating and using many other forms of abuses. As stated by Goodman et al., due to all the humiliation these marginalized population students often are found to take shelter of the substance abuses.
The United States Government lack to understand the educational gapping factors, which arises mainly due to communication. The factors include the lower school enrollment, which means that due to the poor economic background, these minority groups of people fail to provide proper school admission fee as a result lack the basic educational facility from the government. Low literacy rate is the next factor, which are found common issue in this regard.
The poor group of students have the capability to both read and write but are incapable in expressing their educational quality before the standard students. As they hesitate to communicate with their own language with others therefore, fail to express their talents and skills. Due to these several reasons, the talented and well-skilled poor background students remain neglected as well as isolated and suffers from depression.
Due to poor-socio economic home environment, unstable mental and physical condition, hyperactive disorder, emotional problems, psychiatric disorders and many others the school performance comes to below average, which affect the entire educational system. As suffering from repeated humiliations and experiencing bullying and physical abuses, the poor challenged students tend to discontinue their schooling as gained a bitter and terrific schooling experience, which result in higher dropout...
