Companies and cities around the world are experimenting with artificial intelligence to reduce and prevent crime and react more quickly to ongoing crime. The idea behind many of these projects is that crime is relatively predictable; it only needs to be able to classify large amounts of data to find patterns that are useful for law enforcement. This kind of data analysis was technically impossible decades ago, but I hope that the development of machine learning can be up to date.
