The concept of formal and informal organization defines the basic relationship and processes that is present in the workplace nowadays. Formal organization is one that defines the literal structure of the organization which is inclusive of its organizational chart, hierarchical reporting relationships and work processes. Types of formal organization are line, line and staff, matrix and functional organization. The informational organization which is also known as grapevine generally develops in an organization that can contribute strongly to the work culture of any organization(Kokemuller, 2017).
