Executive Summary
This report is based on the cross-cultural management of two different countries Congo and Norway. From the clear analysis of the discussion, it is noticed that there is the presence of differences between both the two countries in various aspects such as leadership, culture, communication, decision making process, management and sharing values to its people. Introduction
Cross-cultural management is redefining the ways, through which two or more than two countries or organisations can manage various activities with each other. Thus, in the cross-cultural contexts, the countries or teams are different from each other in various aspects such as cultures, practices, leadership style and communication. The cross-cultural management process provides the ways, in which these two countries make effective management with each other instead of having differences. Furthermore, cross-cultural management helps to mitigate the gaps of two teams with the involvement of management activities. The discussion of this report analyses the cross-cultural management between two different cultural countries Congo and Norway.
Culture of Congo
The culture of Congo is diverse. Presence of cultural diversity within the context of Congo is made up by the amalgamation of 4.5 million people in its structure. As argued by Canakoglu et al. (2015), through an overview of the cultural mixture in the context of Congo it can be noted that there is a mixture of cultural diversity among the citizens of Congo in the context of languages and customs. Among the total population of Congo, half of them follow the cultural beliefs and there are about 15 principal Bantu groups in Congo.
There is also the presence of approximately 70 subgroups among the citizens of Congo. Therefore, the other half citizens of Congo are Roman Catholic and others are Christian. There is also the presence of Muslim communities in the cultural context of Congo (Hoseini, Sazgarnia and Sharifi, 2019). Moreover, the region of Congo was dominated with the interference of Bantu speaking tribes and this community built trade links, which leads to the Congo River Basin.
Culture of Norway
Culture of Norway is rich and traditional in its structure. Through the overview of the cultural aspects of Norway, it is noted that the culture of the country is closely linked with its history and geography. In the present days, the sustained culture of Norway is famous as the Norwegian farm culture and maintenance of this culture is accomplished with the involvement of harsh climate and also with the presence of ancient property law in the country.
Within the Norwegian language and media, there is also the presence of the romantic nostalgic movement, which was predominant in the 19th century (Johansen and Green, 2017). As a result of the involvement of movement in the 19th century, the Norwegian culture blossomed their efforts to establish as well as to achieve their independent identity in the context of literature, music and art. Moreover, the independent place of the Norwegian people is also presented in the present day through their artworks, cultural presentations and exhibitions.
Cultural differences between Congo and Norway

All the people in Congo belong to a diverse cultural background and for this; there is the presence of cultural mixture in Congo. Not only is the cultural diversity seen in their cultural context, but also there is the presence of diverse cultures, customs and languages in the country.
The overall population of Congo is made up of more than 200 ethnic groups and among most of the groups belonging to Benut. Christianity is one of the dominant religions in the cultural context of Congo (Salali et al. 2016). Furthermore, the survey also denoted that the local region of Congo is noted as Kimbanguish. The Kimbanguish has approximately 2.8% shares in the overall population. In that aspect, it can be added that Islam only has 1.2 shares in the cultural context of Congo. There is also the presence of festivals in the cultural context of Congo.
Therefore, unlike the other religious countries, Christianity is more religious in Christmas than the other days. The country also includes other festivals in their cultural backgrounds are martyrs day, national hero's day, liberation day, army day, youth day and so on. The cuisines that are served in the country vary from the context of indigenous and exotic foods. One of the staple foods of the region is Cassava. According to Migliano et al. (2017), music is the most popular art in the country and that follows ethnic genres and cultures of music. The famous music style, which is followed in the music genre, is Rumba.
Cultural Dimensions of Norway
In the context of Norway, it can be mentioned that cultural differences are generally followed in the country. The presence of power distance in terms of the cultural dimensions states that the cultural dimensions deal with the inequalities in society and among the people. It is observed that in the context of cultural dimensions, Norway is scored low and analyses that the various cultural aspects are such as independent, hierarchy for convenience, presence of equal rights and empowerments are present in the form of a full and fledged ambience (Fjalstad et al. 2016). With a score of 69, Norway is considered as one of the Omnideoist society and this means that in the society of Norway, people can get their self-respect.
Not only that, but also the society of Norway serves importance to the individuals and personal opinion of one person that are coming through their expressed values. Moreover, the rights to privacy are also respected in the country. There is also the establishment of clear lines between the personal and professional life. Furthermore, the masculinity of the Norway society serves a high score to its cultural as well as social backgrounds.
