This conference will largely revolve around the concept of Women in Leadership. We have created our own company, Elixir that promotes awareness about diversity and women’s inclusion in business especially at the top leadership level. Description of the Group Project We plan to organize one-day virtual conferences using online platforms like Zoom. A total number of participants anticipated in this conference is around 200. Purpose of the Event Take a look around in your industry or any industry for that matter, in every industry and majority of companies, and we all can see that the quantum of women leaders, is not more than 20%. Furthermore, most industries are below this threshold like manufacturing, automobiles, etc. According to S&P 500, research shows 96% of organizations are governed by men and as per the research conducted by the World Economic Forum, overall, the women population is underrepresented especially in leadership positions. Have you thought about why is there a wide gap in these numbers? Well, research from every think tank, academic institution, and policymakers globally agrees that this gap is because of perceived incapability or unconscious bias. In this event, we want to share the success stories of women who have successfully made it big in business and learn from their journey. Also, there are many biases that not only others have around women in business but also women have within themselves which limit them to achieve their true potential. We want to explore this in detail in our conference. 3 What: We plan to conduct a leadership conference that explains Women in Leadership. Where: On the Zoom Platform Why: These are unconscious biases that are present in all gender for that matter. And these biases create noise that hampers effective decision-making. Unconscious bias can be explained by the stereotypes or attitudes that affect our views, our actions, as well as our decision-making ability. Technically, the research in this domain is certainly compelling and overwhelming. It exemplifies how unconscious bias is spontaneously activated and influences how one acts or thinks. How: Everyone – me, you, or people of any/all gender is perhaps skewed with traditional limiting thoughts called biasness. So, while I conduct any such initiative, I try to put the audience at ease while participating in these sessions, which helps in elevating the penetration of the event. I urge you to be open to new ideas, relax, take a deep breath, and really ponder about the bigger picture that fuels the success of any business. With the help of mentors and strong leaders who welcome new ideas and encourage to create a culture of innovation, we plan to conduct this one-day virtual event. This conference brings a platform for everyone in the company to gather and introspect on their journey sharing key takeaways that can help others to grow. This conference is based on a theme of unconscious biases along with competitions that can display various facets of women. We will also conduct a Walk the Talk session where we discuss unconscious bias and ways to overcome it. 4 References Werhane, P. H. (2007). Women Leaders in a Globalized World. Within those hours we will have two keynote speakers as well as a few other speakers all touching on leadership, diversity, and inclusion for women. We will have breaks, a lunch hour and two breakout rooms with team and leadership skill building. The attendees will also get to hear a few messages from the CEO of the company Mrs. Lane. The two keynote speakers were determined by their best-selling books on uplifting women and focusing on making everyone equal. Mrs. Lane will start off the conference by discussing the mission of the conference, the purpose, and future goals for the company. Mrs. Wiseman will follow Mrs. Lane by informing and educating the attendees on how being a certain leader can make everyone successful. Her session will last about 35 minutes and then we will have a A & Q. Then we will break for fifteen minutes. After the break we will get all the attendees to go into twenty breakout rooms and we will have them participate in an activity called shipwreck. The activity is about working together and believing in your leader to guide you in the right direction. The activity should take about an hour for everyone to get in groups, play the game and then discuss what they would do in the situation giving during the game. Then we would do a lunch break for forty-five minutes. After the lunch break, we would allow the attendees to group out into the different sessions of their choosing. The three speakers that were choosing to do the three sessions were in the top ten best women leadership speakers. Yassmin Abdel-Magied is a well-known speaker when it comes to diversity and fighting for women rights. Vernice Armour is Americas first African American female combat polit. She will be discussing how to come over come obstacles and not them have certain power over you. Finally, is Risha Grant she is is an internationally renowned diversity, 3 inclusion, and bias expert. She will go over how to get over your biasness when it comes to diversity and inclusion. After the session we will break again and then have one more keynote speaker. Wema Hoover is a culture and DEI expert. She will discuss how to maximize women in the workplace for about 35 minutes as well, followed by a A & Q. We will then move into another activity with breakout rooms and allow them to participate in a virtual escape room. The escape room will allow them to work together and listen to one another and most importantly escape the room by using teamwork. After that activity we will break and then Ms. Lane will return to answer more questions and make the closing comments of the day. 4 REFERENCES BigSpeak Speakers Bureau. (2022, September 27). Our team will conduct market research to discover and evaluate who is our primary target audience to attend our conference and who would find our conference most appeal to and therefore most likely to attend. Our research will be conducted prior to developing our marketing plan to ensure that our plan aligns with the needs, wants, and desires of our attendees (Goldblatt et al., 2020, p. 250). We will take advantage of online event marketing channels to promote the conference. We will code our event marketing materials with our QR code so that we can track how frequently registrants and those who have an interest in the conference access our materials. There will also be free materials to promote our event and access on our website, such as leadership promotional materials. Another way to promote our event will be to have an online raffle for one-on-one conversations with our keynote speakers, where attendees post a picture of some aspect of what they would like to learn at the conference or who they would like to meet with hashtags like #elixier, #womenleadership, and hashtags with our keynote speakers’ names. We will also ask our keynote speakers to promote the event on their websites and their social media accounts. As make certain benchmark dates, we check
