Now it is time to put together everything you have learned in this module by creating a short video OR written report, including images that you have personally taken. 1. Create a four-course, Prix Fixe menu by writing it down on paper or typing it. Include an explanation as to why you chose these items. Typically, Prix Fixe Menus are used for special occasions. When creating your menu think about who you are designing this menu for. Upcoming Valentine’s Day? New Year’s? Or another occasion? Is this meant for casual or fine dining? Your menu can be created in word, PowerPoint or you may want to consider: https://www.canva.com/ which is a free site that you can download menu templates from. You can also creatively write your menu on paper. 2. Set a table in your home for your Prix Fixe menu (set for ONE (1) guest). 3. Include the plates, bowls, glass and utensils that correspond to your menu (if missing any items, use other objects to pretend, like pencils for knives or rocks for bowls). 4. Include a napkin roll (use a small towel if you cannot find a napkin) You can use any device to record your video (if you decide to write a report, please submit a WORD DOC and make sure to include images of your setting). You will be graded on your ability to complete the following: 1. Create a four-course Prix Fixe menu. 2. Set a table according to your menu. 3. Explain your choices for both the menu items and table setting. 4. Show the steps of your napkin fold and the final result (this can be done in a series of images in your report or on video) 5. Explain what traditional table service looks like in your country or cultural group. Tips To Be Successful: · Use descriptive words for your menu items. If you choose to use a graphic or picture, please make sure it is relevant to the menu offering or style of restaurant.  · For example, you would not use a graphic or picture of a meat-based dish or picture of an animal if you have a vegetarian/vegan business or menu concept.  Please create menus that look professional and make sure to use professional fonts. · Ensure the elements of your table setting match the dishes on your menu!
