One of the main jobs of historians is to interpret the past by reviewing primary documents, scholarly secondary sources, and then creating an analysis of this research. After reading your text and reviewing the assigned materials, submit an analysis of the growth of the Klan in the 1920s.

You might want to consider the following questions, but you are not limited to them: Why do you believe the Klan saw a rise in membership in the 1920s? Why was it socially acceptable to be a member of such an organization? What legacies are still present in modern America from the Klan?

This assignment should be at least 300 words and contain your reactions or questions about some specific issue within the historical narrative which you find compelling. For full credit, your paper must not simply sum up the reading or repeat points made there. Rather, I’m looking for you to create your own interpretation, explain the emotional content of the piece, or discuss some original insight. Include citations as needed.

The Ku Klux Klan of 1915
Today, as humans, we accept changes in a natural manner. To us change and technological deve
lopment has become a part of our daily life. However, a few hundred years ago, this was not the case. Human beings had lived in a particular manner for many many years. Things had been constant and new things, thoughts and behaviour were considered out of normal. In the 1820’s this natural order of things was suddenly broken. Changes in things, thoughts and behaviours suddenly became widespread. Resistance to this change was only natural. Some organisations took advantage of this resistance and at their head was Ku Klux Klan. One of the primary reasons for the quick rise in membership of KKK can be attributed to this very resistance.
Ku Klux Klan originally came into existence during the 1860s mainly in the Southern areas of the US. It was a white supremacist group that terrified the African American population through killing and lynching. It gradually went out of order through federal law enforcements. In 1915 it resurfaced again under the leadership of Colonel William Joseph Simmons as a fraternal organisation. Even though the Klan started...
