Content: This assessment is to demonstrate that you have learned information systems concepts, including the definitions, types, strategies and business models. You are to report on what you learned between session 1 and session 6. Introduction
Management information system has been a rewarding course to study in this semester of my studies, in my opinion. The course has been extremely beneficial to my personal and professional development by covering critical and necessary business and information system topics. The knowledge acquired by studying management Information System comes with a variety of benefits because it covers topics that discuss critical issues that can lead to student and company failure. One of the most important subjects is how information systems help business organizations succeed internationally, as it equips learners with the correct methods for implementing management information systems in corporate settings. It provides students with the ability to learn about various approaches to industry. This course also taught me about the benefits and drawbacks of information systems and technology. I have learnt that we can accomplish more things with technology than we can without it; however, we will face many obstacles as we use technology to solve our insufficiencies. In addition, this module has taught me how to understand the importance of information systems and technology in companies, which allows them to gain a competitive edge in the market.
What I have Learnt and How the Knowledge Gained Will Help Me in My Future Career
Chapter 1: Business Information Systems in Your Career
The first chapter of this curriculum, along with the associated activities, provided a good overview of the role of information technology in the business world. In the information technology age, the course was the first to adopt the concept of completion. In regards to chapter one, I have discovered how an information system can assist organizations of all kinds and levels. According to Zakharov and Derksen (2020), as the planet grows to its brink, applications and software are being upgraded at an increasing rate, as shown by how technology caused a stumbling block at Deutsche Bank.
This module has assisted me in understanding the inside and out use and learning of data frameworks in business areas as a business-minded person with aspirations to start a fast-food company. The course has broadened my understanding of the most effective approach for effectively handling the company, customers, and employees. I was able to understand management information system as a part of research that assists an organization in making managerial decisions thanks to an immersive session. It has aided me in understanding the various business information system applications, how they function, and how management information systems can affect my future.
Chapter 2: Global E-Business and Collaboration
The second chapter of the module focused on global e-business and collaboration, and we learned about the key characteristics of business that are critical to understanding the function of management information systems, how these systems represent various groups in organizational environments, why collaboration and social business systems are essential, and the technology used. In this part, I learned that E-commerce is an appealing method of conducting business. The fact that people can surf the items online is the key explanation for its success. Aside from that, the graphical interface aids users in obtaining an accurate image of the goods. Furthermore, the goods are available at any time and in any place. Aside from that, you can go shopping at any time of day.
Other than that, my understanding of management information systems has helped me consider the additional gains that can be realized from implementing an e-commerce system in terms of lowering overhead costs. Aside from the fact that e-business improves connectivity for consumers, I've learned that diverse items from various bands can be collected in an e-commerce platform (Cahyadi, 2020). Sanofi Pasteur has been cited as an example of a company that has achieved great success through global e-business. As a result of this course, I will be able to order any item from any part of the world at any time and from any place, which will have an effect on my future.
