Students should reflect on their own learning experiences outside of the theoretical space and demonstrate their understanding of event policies, strategy and the use of events to drive either corporate or community objectives. Instructions: You are to choose an event that you have attended and write a reflective journal demonstrating your understanding of content covered in the course. You will be assessed on your critical thinking skills, your understanding of key policy and strategy principles and how they relate to the event industry. The best way to accomplish this task is to consider the following questions in relation to a specific event that you have attended or have knowledge of: 1. Did the event drive social or economic development for the event host or key supporters? 2. Who benefited from the event? 3. Was there a return on investment? How was this measured? 4. Why did the Government or Corporate support this event? 5. Were there negative impacts? How were these mitigated? 6. Is there an example of a competing event (public or private) that performed better on the delivery of community/corporate objectives? Introduction
The task involved here require a reflection an analysis of an event through the eyes of a professional event organizer. The event should be compared to understand the key policy and strategy decisions. The objectives of the event, the target audience, the delivery mechanism to convey the message of the event and the impact of the event in meeting the objectives are to be analysed. reflected. The analysis will be incomplete if a similar event held by a competitor in the industry is not analysed. Hence, the relative success of the event is an important factor to be considered.
The event that is analysed is a new launch of a bank from my personal perspective. It included a digital media blitz in fintech magazines, newspapers and creation of websites. Invites are sent to selected databases. Pre-recorded videos about the product offerings are used for the e-launch. Select small groups of customers are invited for exclusive presentations. It is compared to similar competitor events last year.
Social and Economic Development
In the current economic scenario, the government is providing support to the community by making it easier for them to access credit. This event included the launch of a new credit facility for small and medium businesses and individuals. The bank offered new credit lines and easy access to credit with the launch of new disruptive mission and many offerings involving alternative banking products (Cirillo, Ossorio & Pennacchio, 2019). The user friendly and digital tools help the customers. The governments’ objective to provide support to small and medium businesses is supported. The host can definitely make a dent in the market share of the four major banks. Hence, it will be beneficial to the host and the key supporters.

All the primary, secondary and tertiary stakeholders associated with the event are likely beneficiaries. Extensive use of digital solutions and AI is the key feature of the new product launch.
