Being the director that you are, you should have a firm grasp of the significance of Hamlet's "To
be or not to be" monologue. If you have seen the great performers deliver the timeless lines, you should have a much better grasp on the points the soliloquy is attempting to make.
In light of the foregoing, I recommend reading my analysis of the lines and arguments for why they should be included in your theatrical play.
 "To be, or not to be" is the first line of Prince Hamlet's soliloquy in Act 3, Scene 1 of William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, which is called the "nunnery scene."
Its subject is so profound .In the speech, Hamlet thinks about death and suicide. He compares the pain and unfairness of life to what might be worse: death or suicide.. When Hamlet talks, he is not alone. Ophelia is there, and Claudius and Polonius have hidden themselves. Claudius and Polonius have put Ophelia in the way of Hamlet so they can listen in on their conversation and find out if Hamlet is really crazy or just acting that way. Still, Hamlet seems to think he is alone, and there is no sign that anyone else hears him before he talks to Ophelia.
