How would you present the information related to this report in a visual manner?

Would a visual presentation enhance its effectiveness? Why or why not?

Presenting clear information requires categorizing the data into a spreadsheet by staff meme and vendors name. The official report is a straightforward answer. A bar chart constituting percentage accordance would be more vivid than a list of numbers each month. "Summarized information for the manager and administrator should be presented by both a bar chart and a trending line graph to compare our findings with the national averages (Baack, 2012)."

The department manager differentiates how each staff worker is advancing separately. After going through those initial steps, we know who is serious about joining the team and who is not. I compile all of those details and send it to my supervisor, so they know how to move forward with the candidates. The visual representation of information may contribute to managerial conclusions including staffing, distribution of money, or the choice for more growth. A graph of numbers or written review would not have duplicate influence. "Many managers have difficulty spotting trends if all they see is a column of numbers (McCullar, 2000)."

"Reports need to capture the attention of the audience and transmit the message (Baack, 2012)." Baack (2012) states that "presentations differ from other formats because the speaker takes time in advance to shape a message and any accompanying materials, such as a PowerPoint, Keynote, in design, or other visual aid." When visually giving the information, by compiling all resources into a very detailed spreadsheet color coordinated, with each week in the month within one spreadsheet.

According to Baack (2012), "A communication message format consists of the text of the message along with any visuals. Four elements of design include attracting attention, preparing the information to be transmitted, finding ways to reach the audience, and developing methods to ensure understanding and compliance" ("Establish a Message Format," para. 1).

As an art teacher, it is important to evaluate the performance and overall art knowledge acquisition that the students have acquired each month, semester, half-year and full-year. At the last place I subbed at (1st-5th elementary school), the students were required to know the elements and principals of design as well as meet art standards and art performance standards such as, technique, participation, etc. This is a great opportunity to create a presentation of the student growth data in pie charts or bar graphs. Creating a newsletter that updates parents on their students artwork and what they are learning in art class. This is an opportunity to take photos of student artwork, making artwork and videos of students talking about artwork.

In terms of everyday reports, as an art teacher or any teacher, you must create learning targets for each class. These learning targets are short I CAN statements. Usually teachers just write them on the board. When I was a teacher I would find clip art of art materials and create slide pages with the artist who inspired the art project, patterns, vivid colors, and examples of how to complete the projects. This helped enhance the message of just writing & saying the learning targets to the students. By using visuals, the students could visualize how to complete the project in an easy step-by-step process.

I could also use visuals to communicate to the principal how many students know their complimentary colors by creating a visual graph. I could also have daily surveys for the students to fill out and share with teachers, administrators and parents such as, "What is your favorite kind of art?" and then create visuals and send them out via email each day for parents, students, teachers and administrators to see.
