Exam 1 For your first exam, you will answer 4 questions related to the survey below. To earn full credit, you must report the survey’s mean and standard deviation, all Z scores you had to calculate and all the proportions you extracted from the table. All final answers should be in number of respondents. Use the included Z table. The data is included in the Exam 1 file. There is only a single excel tab in it, named : promotions As to the rounding, please follow the following rubric. Round your Z scores to two decimal points. Do not round any proportions you get from the table. Round your finals answers to a whole number. For example, if you get a z score of 1.246, round it to 1.25. If you get 1.244, round it to 1.24. If your final answer is 145.9, round it up to 146. If you get 145.4, round it down to 145. I have always encouraged students to draw a simple histogram to help visualize what is being asked. While I still encourage you to do so, you don’t need to turn one in to get full credit. Draw one if it helps you, but don’t worry about turning one in. You are welcome to use whatever notes you have, refer back to the book or the videos. You will need to use SPSS to compute some values, you can use either the one you have downloaded to your computer or any of the computers available across campus. Your exam should be uploaded to pilot’s dropbox by Sunday, 9:30 pm. The grade will be penalized if it is uploaded any later than that. 1 Securing a Promotion in the Real World Students graduating from college often worry about their performance in the real world, doing real tasks in real jobs. The histogram of the collected data is given as follows:
from the above histogram we can conclude that the survey data has symmetrical distribution. That the distribution of the data is normal. Thus, to find probabilities of the 4 questions we will use standard normal approach.
