Task CJC3164 Select one community correctional program you want to design and write a proposal to the government asking for funding. Then, · State the reason for choosing the program. · Convince the government that such a program is needed in the area (no such program in the area, the current existing program does not satisfy the needs of offenders, the current existing program cannot accommodate all offenders sentenced to the program, etc.) · State who this program will be for (what type of offenders and how many?) · Specify the program's goals and policies, and state how you intend to achieve your goals (what activities offenders will do, how this program will prepare offenders for crime-free lifestyle, what types of security will be used?) · Finally, estimate how many personnel will be needed, budget, etc. (estimate your expenditure: salary, program run, housekeeping budget, etc. Remember, the economy sucks! The recently elected state government is very picky when granting proposals and very stingy when giving any money to run your program! They want to get more while paying less; with what little you have to change as many as all offenders and make them law-abiding citizens. You must write a proposal that will stand out of 3 others submitted at the same time to the same committee. There will be no second chance - you either get it and have a job, or you work for those who just opened their new program! General Guidelines · 3-4 pages in length not counting the reference page(s). For the minimum page count to be accepted the last page should consist of at least 3/4 text. · There should be no additional line spaces between paragraphs within the assignment. · Use at least 5 academic sources to prove that the program is indeed needed and/or successful somewhere else [if you are designing absolutely new program, then prove that offenders need this program and elements of a new program are successful somewhere else]. Web sites can be used and cited (Note that not all websites are considered to be academic sources). · Use proper citation and reference in APA Writing Style including references. · No cover pages. · Include references on the last page. All references must be typed in full. Any and all references within your document are first cited in the text; and secondly, the full citation goes at the end of the assignment in the References section. · Make sure to do some research on programs before you decide which one to design and propose.
