Module 3 Discussion: Scammers and Crooks According to the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), two of the newest and most costly home scams that have been showing up around the country are the following: 1.  Scammers posing as utility service technicians and arriving unannounced for emergency inspections.  The latest utility scam involves imposter cable company reps offering service discounts if payments are made in advance by gift cards.  2.  Home security systems may attract burglars who pose as technicians for security companies, claiming they need to service the security system.  They then disable the system for a later burglary. Some people may perceive him as overconfident and prone to risk-taking Weak spots: Conscientious about family's safety and well-being INSTRUCTIONS: Taking into consideration the types of scams that older residents can expect to confront them and thinking about the profile that aggregates the most frequent scam victim attributes, review crime prevention options for seniors.  Specifically, develop a response to the following: 1- What is your best advice to community police officers who serve communities with significant senior populations?
