Problem Statement
Problem of this article is related to the safety and care of patients. This research was
conducted with the clinical problem of how to prevent an adult acute surgical inpatient to fall and
injuries due to fall. This study was developed with the thought of creating awareness among the
nursing staff to measure and evaluate different ways, so that the hospital staff can minimize the
number of these kinds of injuries and implemented high level care setting.
The significant of this study was associated with the development of hospitals facilities to
minimize the risk of patients fall and injuries. Falling patients from bed causes emergency
treatments and both patients and nursing staff suffers due to these injuries. This study is
significant for the nursing staff to understand the different ways to provide care setting to
patients and importance of keeping their beds at lowest position to avoid any kind of further
accidents, which increase the care cost of patients.
In addition, lack of awareness about proper precaution to prevent fall of patients also
increases problems of clinical staff, as they need emergency staff and facilities. Due to this
family members and relatives of patients are also affected in mental conditions and monetary
terms.
