EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
    Systems thinking allow us to narrow down the complexities of the di
sease working as an interrelated machinery that sums up the product of the issue and not just lists the reasons. This report is aimed at elucidating the effects and implementation challenges of a chronic metabolic disease such as childhood obesity. The purpose is to identify the problems related to childhood obesity, the major causes and factors and also to research whether applying Systems Thinking approach could help in combating and preventing this disease. This report provides a concise summary of the cause and effect relationship of childhood obesity and implementation of Systems Thinking Approach.
INTRODUCTION
    With the frequent onset of chronic diseases worldwide, implementing Systems thinking in public healthcare system has become crucial to combat and prevent chronic diseases. The most concerning factor while researching the severity of chronic diseases is that the cause of these diseases are multi-factorial a plethora of reasons could be presented based on the genetic, environmental, lifestyle, economic and social aspects of the individual. This approach has been applied to a wide area of science including mathematics, anthropology, biology, psychology, management and computer science but most widely has been used in case of Public health and diseases (Finegood, 2012). It has allowed scientists and researchers from multiple disciplines to come together, providing a concise picture of how to handle the issues from the perspectives of different stakeholders including the people working in the healthcare and the disease affects those have (Owen, Brown, Kuhlberg, Nichols & Allender, 2018).

Obesity has been one of the most complex and modern diseases of the 21st century. Classified not as a disease but as a metabolic syndrome, obesity has crept up in almost all the families in North America. Obesity has effected over 30% of the population and likely to effect a large population in the upcoming years. Although Systems Thinking has been somewhat applied to obesity in general in North America it has not been used at all in Australia where much of childhood obesity has not been researched. It is worth the mention that psychological stresses are among the vital causes of childhood obesity (Hamid, 2012).
