Introduction
Community well-being is the process of defending and developing the fitness of the society by making strategies and planning through educational processes. Further, it is a process to aware the community people about the health related issues and its causes and also the ways to cure the same. The study deals with the factors which are responsible for the health issues of the community people. It basically focuses on the rate of women affected by heart disease and the factors responsible for the same. It also provides a strategy to prevent heart diseases.
Section 1: Social determinants of Heart disease for
Burden of heart disease among the women population of Australia
Heart disease has become one of the trending health issues at present which might occur due to a number of factors. Social factors or behavioral factors might lead to the cause of heart diseases. There are women who lack physical activity or consume tobacco at a high rate in their daily schedule (Waterson, 2018). Enormous consumption of tobacco basically is one of the risk factors among the young women population. Further, the lack of physical activity due to their busy schedule results in weight gain by the women of age group between 35-45 years (Aihw.gov.au, 2019). Moreover, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, most of the Australian women around 90% possess at least one modifiable cardiovascular disorder (Aihw.gov.au, 2019). The frequency of heart diseases among the Australian women is high; they are coronary heart diseases and diabetes. This might lead to heart failure due to high levels of blood cholesterol. Furthermore, severe heart diseases are the biggest cause of death among the overall women of Australia.
Discuss how the social determinants of health can explain the burden of heart disease within your chosen population
Prevalence of heart disease due to consumption of tobacco:
In today’s world the consumption of tobacco, such as cigarette smoking results in increase of the rate of blood pressure as well as heart rate. As stated by Davis et al. (2015), the release of harmful toxic products from the smoke such as carbon monoxide, nicotine causes deposition in the walls of arteries. This leads to blood fat abnormalities thereby causing stroke attacks. The depositions cause narrowing of the arteries which would constrict the transportation of oxygen to the heart. Thus, it would create a blockage which may even result in strokes (Parker et al. 2017). Sometimes, due to the lack of supply of oxygen there might be a pain in the chest and the heart would malfunction.
From the records of Australia Institute of Health and Welfare it is found that smoking has resulted around 20,933 deaths in the year of 2015 (Jennings et al. 2016). In the year 2015, around 9.3% of heart diseases were due to the increased usage of tobacco. The consumption of tobacco has also lead to 19 types of cancers and 7 types of heart diseases and it is causes asthma. In the year of 2016, around 11% of the women of the age group 25-34 required hospital treatment for the recovery of cardiovascular diseases (Tobaccoinaustralia.org.au 2019). More than one-third of the deaths have been recorded which is basically due to heart diseases like heart attacks or blockage or strokes. Further, from 2001 to 2016, the rate of heart diseases has fallen by more than 50% among the women of Australia (Tobaccoinaustralia.org.au 2019). Moreover, the women of Australia out of depression consumes cigarette which increases with their stress or anxiety level. The smoking rate among...
