Purpose: This discussion will provide an opportunity for you to give and receive feedback on your own originalWikipediaEntry before you submit it for grading by the course instructor.

Task: Think of a subject that you are particularly interested in and knowledgeable about. (This could be anything really, from a hobby to a pastime, to a skill.) Draft aWikipediaentry on this topic based on what you know and what you can learn by doing some research (but not onWikipedia!). Try to include facts that are largely uncontested by others. Consider including visual features to illustrate key concepts about your topic. Be sure to include a list of references and sources at the end of your entry and hyperlink them if they are from the web. Refer to the guide for authors at wikipedia.org for suggestions on format.

Requirements:

1. Your composition should have the appearance of aWikipediaarticle, but it doesn't have to be an actual article that you have submitted toWikipedia. Just have fun with it and don't worry about "experts" reviewing the accuracy of your facts. (Hint: the more specific your subject, the easier it will be to create a manageable entry--aim for about 500-800 words.)
