In addition to an introduction and conclusion, the reflective essay should comprise three main sections: In Part 1, critically compare your results with those of the two people who evaluated you. In your analysis, use the four quadrants of the Johari W indow; i.e. Open, Blind, Hidden, Unknown (approx. 400 words). In Part 2, analyse your strengths and weaknesses based on your own survey results and discuss possible improvements (approx. 300 words). In Part 3, reflect on what competencies you would like to develop in order to function well as a global citizen. Provide practical examples with the assumption you work in a culturally diverse global organisation (approx. 400 words). Your reflective essay should include: • Integration of these reflections with theoretical concepts. • A reflective essay can be entirely written in the first person. • A brief discussion of identified strengths and areas for development, presenting your own results, your associates’ results, and a discussion of the patterns, similarities/differences and trends you discover. • Evidence of integration of feedback received from your associates, as well as consideration of your own past experiences and feedback from other sources you have received in years gone by. • A clear conclusion reflecting on how your new insights may assist you with a potential career in a culturally diverse organisation. • A reference list. • Proof of completed surveys, both yours and your associates’ (Face-to-face students to give these to their facilitators in Week 5 at the end of the seminar. Online students to scan the tests and email them to their online facilitator). Please note that the evidence of the tests is worth 6/30. Further guidance: • This paper requires a significant amount of analysis and personal reflection. This means that you should consider the Johari W indow model by breaking down its four parts and reflecting on how the various quadrants provide a deeper understanding of yourself . • The attached marking rubrics guide the marker when awarding marks for your reflective essay. You should review your paper in line with this to ensure there is nothing you have missed. • It is important to check your similarity in Turnitin. All sentences highlighted must be either paraphrased in your own words or put in quotes and referenced accordingly. You should be aiming for as low a similarity score as you can. Similarity highlighted in a contents page, reference list or appendices is nothing to be concerned about. Important Study Information Academic Integrity Policy KBS values academic integrity. Introduction
Assessment of the weakness and internal strength provides scope for the person to understand their behaviour and capabilities. When other person evaluates you about emotional intelligence and intellectual level, you are able to assess your relationship with other individuals like family and friends. There are many tools, which have been available to assess the individual’s emotional intelligence and their internal strength such as Johari window model. As mentioned by Berland (2017), Johari window model was developed in 1995 to develop awareness in the individual using four quadrants. These quadrants are named as open, blind, hidden and unknown. This allows the individual to analyse their emotions and self-awareness.
Comparison of the results
I had conducted the self-assessment test of my emotional intelligence skills using two tests. These tests are Global Leadership Foundation’s Global Emotional Intelligence Test (GEIT) and Daniel Goleman’s EQ test. The result of the Global leadership foundation’s Global emotional intelligence test (GEIT) shows that my highest score is 9, which is possess in two quadrants, which is self-management and social awareness. I scored lowest in the relationship management, which is 5. On contrary in case of self-awareness I scored 8. As per the result, I have very good self-awareness about my emotions as I get second highest in it. I am able to understand my emotions and knows how much my emotions have impact on my work.
I got highest in social awareness, which means am good in making relationship and good in development of social network. As noted by Serrat (2017), social awareness is necessary in building of the organisational awareness and service orientation, which is helpful in building decision network and meeting customers needs respectively. I got equal highest score in self-management. This means I have self-control, which is necessary in keeping disruptive emotions under control. I have strong adaptability and transparency, which means I can overcome any barriers at work and conduct the work with honesty respectively.
My Daniel Goleman’s EQ test shows that I had scored 47. As per the test result, I am having average emotional intelligence. Although I can improve relationships, which fellow...
