Some argue that government needs to increase its regulation of business for the good of society as a whole. Others believe that the marketplace is self-regulating and that government intervention through needless regulation places an unfair, costly burden on businesses in general and on small businesses in par­ticular. Government regulations and businesses
It is usually believed that the free market is a self-regulat
ing entity that doesn’t require intervention and that government regulations are needless and unfair. I believe that the government plays an important role in regulating the free market without which, the free market would be rampant with bigoted behaviour and exploitation of both consumers and weaker businesses.
The government has essentially held back regulations in many areas and the ill-effects of this has clearly shown itself in the 2007-2011 global financial crisis....
