Task: Enhancing Leadership and Management in the Aged Care Sector Management and Leadership development in the residential aged care sector has long been a neglected area. In response to recent reforms in aged care, there has been an acknowledgement that reforms cannot be effective unless implemented under effective management and leadership. Specifically, with the shift towards Consumer-Directed Care there is now an urgent need for such a strategy that promotes a sector- appropriate and common approach to aged care leadership and management development. Your task is to develop a national level strategy that summarises the literature both in Australia and overseas on frameworks for effective management and leadership in this sector and takes into account relevant regulation, legislation and funding.
