INSTRUMENTS AND TOOLS REQUIRED:
1. Digital Multimeter
2. Screw Driver
3. Soldering Gun
4. Soldering paste
5. Desoldering Gun
6. Magnifying Glass
7. Faulty component as spares
8. ESD Gloves
9. V

Fault1:
Observation:
Sign of flashing and smoke inside the TV receiver box
Dismantle of equipment:
1. Disconnect the 230/12v power supply adapter from the distribution board.
2. Remove all the Input/output ports present on the receiver carefully.
3. Physically check the outer surface of the receiver and found ok.
4. Maintain the testing lab slab clean and clear.
5. To avoid ESD discharge, wear the gloves and connect the sleeves to the earth point properly.
6. Unscrew the bottom plastic cover with the help of screw driver.
Troubleshooting:
1.Physically check the PCB Board and look for burnt spots on power supply module,I/O ,Connectivity ports,Broken IC’s, blown capacitor, damage transistor/diode etc
2.There was a sign of sparking near Capacitor C12 as there was the carbon composition near the power module circuit.
3.Discharge all the IC’S,capacitors and transformer present in the circuit with help of suitable resistors (range from 50ohm to 1000 ohm).
4.Check the resistance value of all the resistances present in the circuit with the help of multimeter and found are are in limits w.r.t to their corresponding values.
5.Turn the multimeter dial into the capacitance mode and check the value for all the capacitors present in the circuit and all are found ok except the Capacitor C12.
Test Results are:
A) Cracks are found in the capacitor body of C12
B) Instead of showing 220 micro Faraday value,it is showing over limit while testing it with the multimeter.
6.Check the winding Resistance value of the transformer on both side and results are found in limits.
7.Check all diode with the help of multimeter by putting the miltimeter dial into diode mode and found OK.
8.Check all the transistors with the help of multimeter and found OK.
