Title: Are parents responsible for the increase of drug addiction in children?
Are parents responsible for the increase of drug addiction in children?
1.     Drug addiction has become the common issue in t
he children of various age. Earlier drug use can be seen in teenagers with age above 15 as part of the adventure to try something new. Now, the age of children consuming drug has reduced to 11. Children who suffered from negligence from their parents are more likely to use drug as their excuse or refuge from current situation. Once started as refuge later become addiction, which is difficult to prevent (Albert). Most of the parents believe influence of puberty, and peer pressure are mainly responsible for the drug addiction of the children. Parents are equally victim in such situations (Van Loon et al.).
2.    Drug addiction is mostly seen in the teenage phase of the children. During the teenage, child brain is developing and under the influence of hormones due to puberty, children become vulnerable in the world. Their adventure to trying something new or trying the things, which are restricted by parents, is very common (Omu et al.). The influence of puberty on children is not same on everyone. When parents asked the teenager not to try any specific thing, they need to check that specific thing become very high. Most of the time they ever try to listen to the parents but peer pressure become the driving factor, which push the teenager to try all the things, which can be adventurous as well as dangerous for their health.
Influence of peer is very high on children especially when they are going through puberty. Every teenager has a fear of being left out or isolated in the group. From dressing to buying the new mobile phones, all the things done by them is to please their peer and remain in the race of the being normal in dictionary of fellow friends. Some try to become popular in the group. Some teenagers especially boys, try adventurous things to prove themselves as daring and strong in their group (Hendricks et al.). This craving of being popular or strong make them try drug as part of their adventurous drive. First, they try it as part of fun and out of dare; however, later the regular habit of consumption to please their peers becomes an addiction. This addiction makes them do despicable things, which they have not even think of doing....
