The construct selected for the study is self-confidence. Self-confidence can be defined as the state, in which an individual able to trust, they can predict correctly about the situation. Apart from this, during this state, an individual can choose the best course of action in the specific situation. Since there are no direct measurements of the self-confidence, therefore, certain indicators behavioral or physical can act as measure for the self-confidence. The two measures for self-confidence is physical appearance and competence.
As mentioned by Cristiana (2016), physical appearance is considered one of the important indicators, which is used to measure self-confidence. People with good self-confidence have healthy physical appearance. People appreciates their physical appearance even if they do not belong to the category (defined by the society) of good looking. People take pride in their physical appearance and take all the necessary steps to look clean and well dressed.
