I interpret a strong brand to be able to encompass the following
things: be commited to its customers, trigger an emotional response, and
evolve.
A brand that is committed to their consumer, in my opinion,
will have a very prosperous future. By a
brand knowing what their consumer’s wants and needs are, they are able to give
the type of products they desire. A brand that has the ability to do this has
made a company- customer relationship.
Next a brand should be able to trigger an emotional response
in the consumer, making them feel drawn to the product and they need to have
it. For example, it is very hard for me to find jeans that fit. I search high
and low and look at all types of jeans that are made for curvy women. Most
times I strike out, but every once in awhile, I strike gold! The satisfaction
and the “need to have this” thought takes over convincing myself I am
going to buy the jeans.
Finally and what might be most important is for a brand to
have the ability to evolve. Changing
with the times is very important. Brands uncovering this ability will be around
for generations to come. Levis are a great example of a company who knows how
to evolve. Levis was founded in 1853 and
has been in business for 162 years. Levis made a profit of $4.68 billion in
2014 and they hold the highest share for jeans. I don’t know about you guys but
Levis are definitely settting brand goals (Yohn 2015).
A marketer can leverage their brand awareness when
introducing a new brand by studying
other brands on the market and comparing their brands with the other brands to
brainstorm the differences, similarities and ways to stand out.
My favorite brand is MAC Cosmetics (MAC). I am a makeup
lover and I love what they represent. MAC allows everyone in every race, gender
and sexual orietation to be themselves. I love that they promote positivity and
self-esteem. I am a positivity enthusiast. Just think if all brands promoted
positivity. Consumers might be happier.
What’s your favorite brand?
