1 HS460 PROJECT DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT FOR HEALTH CARE Transitioning Home Wylonda Suazo Purdue University Global Louise Murray Transitioning Home When transitioning occurs from a regular office to the home office, one of the major processes, which get affected, is communication. As mentioned by Myodo, Xu, Tasaka, Yanagihara, and Sakazawa (2018), business communication is an integrated part of the swift working of the business. Communication is responsible for the collaboration and connectivity of the people in the workplace. This communication results in the development of trust among the team members, establishing trust among the employees and management. It also plays a crucial part in building client and business relationships. It has been seen that when the transition to home office occurs, it results in hampering the frequent communication, which is necessary for the swift conduction of the business. Thus, it is of utmost importance to improve the communication process from the home office. The poor communication results in lowering of the performance of the business and increase of the misunderstandings. The sources, which are necessary for the improvement of the quality of the process, including searching for the alternative means, which can help improve the communication between the team members. This improvement can be done using a social media platform such as WhatsApp. This tool helps in conducting group discussions among a large number of people. There is an availability of Google Classroom, Zoom TV, and Skype, which can help conduct video conferencing with the entire team at once. On the contrary, conference calls and emails can also be used for improving the communications (Chen, Davison & Ou, 2016). A transition to work from home results in the work culture of the organization. There are many processes, which get affected such as collaboration or team-building exercises. One of the crucial factors that can be affected is communication. It has been seen that negligence in communication increases at the work office. As mentioned by Vignesh (2020), the miscommunication rate between fellow workers is increased greatly. Although, it has been a myth that the home office can help in increasing the productivity of the worker, yet many factors affect productivity and working from home. Poor connectivity and disturbance at the home due to the home environment results in a communication gap. This gap needs to be reduced as a priority. The collection of data on the issue suggested that there are many factors, which result in affecting communication when working from the home office. There is a failure in following the strict office timing and mandatory connection between fellow members and other office members. This is a variation from the expectation. It was expected that due to advancements in technology and the availability of mobile with everyone, there would not be any communication issues. On the contrary, data suggested that employees at the home office show negligence in communication. They can also face technical issue such as network problem or poor internet connectivity, which worsen the situation. The main factor, which causes the issue in the communication is poor connectivity and failure to follow strict office timing. It has been seen that people work in their comfort zone and often get involved in household activities during working hours, which lead to the negligence of communication. Thus, there is a need for improved internet connectivity and strict following of office hours. Annotated Bibliography Myodo, E., Xu, J., Tasaka, K., Yanagihara, H., & Sakazawa, S. (2018).
