In the article by Edwards (2017), Jo Earl discusses the multitude of reasons for doctors retiring late when compared to their peer group in other professions. She points out that many doctors are not willing to retire at the regular retirement age that is sixty-five and the median age for the retirement of doctors, off late, is around 68-70 years.
