Introduction
It is seen that people who are convicted of any crimes even without any proven evidence are mistreated and sometimes it becomes a threat for their mental and physical health. Effective response to crimes of ill-treatment committed by law enforcement officers and imposing criminal liability on perpetrators has been a major challenge for the justice system for years. (Nasrashvili, 2019). There are cases of people having depression and frustration and resorting to suicidal and other disastrous path to not able to take such ill treatment. Judges, police officers and prosecutors who have been tasked with criminal prosecution are given special powers that authorises them to infringe upon constitutional rights and interests usually protected by criminal laws, let us take for example to make arrests or to conduct surveillance. But in contradictory abusing such powers is considered a gross injustice (Singelnstein, 2019). States and the Federal Government have shared the responsibility for the criminal law. Bill of Rights
There is evidence of mistrust from potentially oppressive federal government because of which the Bill of Rights was framed to provide a cure. The Bill of Rights also depicts about the wide-ranging principles that limits the supremacies of the federal government, which can be in the form of due process of law, but it also considers more specific rules to protect individual liberty. The Sixth Amendment, for example, guards against unjustified deprivations of life and liberty by making it mandatory that the seven specific procedural protections are provided by the federal government to all those accused of committing a crime (Chhablani, 2008). The Bill of Rights is considered as critical constituent of the United States Constitution that was prepared and initiated in order to safeguard the basic rights of the country’s (United States) citizens.
